UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA IN HUNTSVILLE DANCE MARATHON RECEIVES THE 2022 MOST IMPROVED DANCE MARATHON AWARD

The University of Alabama in Huntsville Dance Marathon (UAHDM) received the 2022 Most Improved Dance Marathon Award. This award recognizes an organization that has taken significant steps to increase fundraising and overall participant experience on their campus. In the 2021-2022 academic year, UAHDM focused on building a strong and diverse Executive Board by recruiting members from across campus. The Executive Board was passionate about Dance Marathon and helped create a participant experience that made their campus passionate as well.  They boosted attendance at special events, such as their Rodeo, Lantern Night, and the main event with a strategic advertising plan.  In the end, they had 200 participants registered for Dance Marathon, hit their fundraising goal of $10,000 before the Dance Marathon main event, and ultimately raised $13,341.82. Miracle Network Dance Marathon recognized UAHDM and other top performing Dance Marathon programs at the Dance Marathon Leadership Conference held in Atlanta, GA July 21-24, 2022.

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is an international movement, involving over 400 colleges, universities and K-12 schools across the United States and Canada that fundraise for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. These students work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds one dollar at a time by making the ask to family and friends. Their hard work culminates in a 6–40-hour celebration on their campus or virtually, where participants have the opportunity to rally together as a community for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Students involved in Dance Marathon gain valuable skills in fundraising, peer management, delegation, and philanthropy. Miracle Network Dance Marathon programs have collectively raised more than $300 million since 1991.
