State DM and Child Health Day
This past weekend our amazing State DM executive team from Mississippi State toured Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. These incredible dance marathon students were able to see where all of their efforts and donations go!
Today, Monday, October 7, the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement, represented at over 400 college, university, and K-12 campuses, will be coming together to celebrate Child Health Day and reaffirm their commitment to “Change Kids Health, Change the Future.”
For several years, Miracle Network Dance Marathon has utilized Child Health Day as a day of action, with Dance Marathon programs and participants coming together to raise funds and awareness for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Children’s hospitals rely on donations to care for more than 10 million kids each year. Government and insurance programs do not begin to cover the full cost of pediatric health care. As care costs rise, so does that funding gap; fundraising for children’s hospitals is more vital than ever. Funds raised through local Dance Marathon programs have helped to provide funding for charitable care, equipment, research, special services, education, and the custom needs of their local hospitals.
On Child Health Day, Dance Marathon programs, participants, alumni, and community members can help to #ChangeKidsHealth by:
- Encouraging individuals to join the movement by registering as a fundraiser for their campus’s Dance Marathon program,
- Asking others to donate and show their support for the kids treated in their local communities, and
- Spreading the word that children’s hospitals need donations to save kids’ lives.
Follow the hashtags #ChildHealthDay and #ChangeKidsHealth to join in the conversation with other Dance Marathon participants and supporters. Learn how YOU too, can make a difference!
