University of Maine Welcomes New President

The University of Maine, a proud Children’s Miracle Network Hospital Miracle Network Dance Marathon university, welcomed its 21st president, Dr. Joan Ferrini-Mundy, on July 1.

Dr. Ferrini-Mundy joins UMaine following a position as the chief operating officer at the National Science Foundation. She’ll also serve as president of the UMaine system’s smallest campus, the University of Maine at Machias, which is a primary partner of the flagship campus in Orono.
