Thank YOU from the kids!

As communities across Maine pause to focus their attention on the COVID-19 pandemic, we’d be remiss if we didn’t say thank you to organizers for the Battle of Maine and Black BearTHON.

Nichole and I had made plans to hit the road today – she’d head south to Waterville and Thomas College for the Battle of Maine’s Mixed Martial Arts Championships and Fundraiser, and I was headed to Orono for UMaine’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon, Black BearTHON.

Understandably, plans changed quickly as we all began to watch the unsettling news that was affecting so many people worldwide.

The Battle of Maine has been reschedule for Saturday, August 1, 2020. And we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with Mark Huard and his incredible students in August.

With UMaine students home, Black BearTHON 2020 was cancelled. Yet, head over to the event’s FB page to see how the students’ invaluable impact is making a difference at EMMC. Our hearts are with the 2019/2020 executive committee who our countless hours into planning an inspiring event that highlights the cause of our hearts and the college of our hearts. We will forever be grateful to UMaine and this year’s students for being all in FOR THE KIDS.

Today didn’t go as planned and that’s ok. We’re both home, doing our part along with so many others, because we know the caregivers at Eastern Maine Medical Center can’t be. Our dedicated staff is all in to care for our patients during these unprecedented times.

Sincerely, Kelly
