I dance, because…

On, October 3rd, students and universities from around the nation spent the day rallying around Changing Kids’ Health to Change the Future.

I, challenge you to consider this. What if students could change the world?

But wait, they are.

Changing the world by, Changing Kids’ Health & Changing The Future.

The students at Otterbein University have inspired us all, from their passion to their perseverance. Since the fall semester has begun, they have hit the ground running. Between their weekly meetings for communication activities, campus – philanthropic plans, outreach initiatives, and then onto planning exclusive experiences to celebrate our very own patient champions.

I took a moment to ask their Executive Board Members, what there “WHY” was and took a moment to record their responses below. Each one of these statements represent the kind of students that are bound and determined to change the future. Many of the students involved in OtterThon, also play double roles. Double roles as in managing to juggle the responsibilities of being a student, a friend, a leader, but also healthcare works and the future of Nationwide Children’s.

“My reason for joining OtterThon is to make a change and support kids and families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.”

Olivia Eckels

“I chose to join OtterThon because I am passionate for the cause! Also, because it’s a way to utilize my passion and talents to help others!”

Payje Wilson

“I choose to join OtterThon to help kids who are spending part of their childhood in the hospital. I want to be a Physician Assistant in the future so this is a cause that is really important to me, and I want to be a part of changing kids health!”

Audrey Gremmer

“I chose OtterThon because I love helping people and I love kids, so it’s the best of both! After being a part of OtterThon for the past four years, I have met so many great kids and families and made so many memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life! It was the best decision I ever made!”
