HuskyTHON wins big at the 2020 Dance Marathon Leadership Conference

With the Dance Marathon Leadership Conference going virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic it did not stop HuskyTHON at the University of Connecticut from winning big. HuskyTHON was awarded the Participant Stewardship Award, Miracle Maker 15+ year Award, and won the Love’s Ideal Business Partner Pitch.

HuskyTHON was awarded the Participant Stewardship Award, which is presented to the program that has demonstrated outstanding participant recognition and retention efforts, or who has made the largest strides in this area over the past year.

The Miracle Maker Awards recognize the Dance Marathon programs that had the highest combined monetary and percentage increases in their overall fundraising over the previous year.  These programs demonstrate that it is possible to continue to build a lasting tradition on campus and grow their fundraising year-after-year for their local CMN Hospital. Programs are categorized for the awards based on their founding year as a Miracle Network Dance Marathon program.

HuskyTHON was the Miracle Maker Award winner for programs in years 15+, increasing their fundraising by 14%, a monetary growth of over $190,000 resulting in a fundraising total of over $1.52 million!

Last but certainly not least, HuskyTHON won The Love’s Ideal Business Partner Pitch which invited 11 Miracle Million Club Dance Marathons to pitch as if they were trying to gain a new sponsor, with feedback and judging provided by subject matter experts from Love’s and CMN Hospitals. With that win, HuskyTHON will be receiving a $5,000 donation from Love’s Travel Stops!

HuskyTHON’s year-round hard work and determination to raise funds for Connecticut Children’s does not go unseen. We are so grateful for their incredible work, congratulations to HuskyTHON on the big wins!
