DEPAUL UNIVERSITY RECEIVES DIGITAL MEDIA AWARD

“Our goal for our digital media accounts this year was to bring in some consistent branding and messaging into our content, and regularly start posting content to engage and effectively communicate with our community. We achieved this by creating a branding guide at the beginning of the year to give our team tools to help assist them in creating effective marketing for our organization.

This year, we reached new audiences by having our members reach out on a university social media account called I am DePaul, which “See’s DePaul through the eyes of a different student each week.” Many freshmen, incoming, and preceptive students follow this account, and it’s a great way to talk to reach out to them. Our 2020-2021 operations manager Camryn Nishita took over the week of our big event and led a little behind the scenes and talked about why DemonTHON.

We also utilized the news source for the DePaul community, Newsline. “It is the official communication channel for university leadership to share information with faculty, staff, and students.” Faculty, staff, and students, revive Newsline updates in their email daily. Alumni also utilized this source. Their links are also posted to their social media accounts, which we do our best to share.

One of our current members and core committee member Erin McKenna was a patient at Lurie Children’s as a child. Thanks to Depaul’s incredible press team, we could step up interviews with local press stations, which helped us promote our big event.”
