Dance Marathon: Not just for college students!

Though it began as a collegiate event, the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement now extends to college, high school, and even grade school students. Students involved in a campus’ dance marathon organization spend a year gaining leadership, teamwork, and nonprofit business experience while raising funds and awareness for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, UH Rainbow here in Cleveland. The year culminates with the dance marathon event on each campus where students stay on their feet, dancing and playing games, in support of the patients treated at children’s hospitals.

Last week SpartanTHON, the dance marathon at Case Western Reserve University, hosted students from Strongsville High School at UH Rainbow for a dance marathon planning meeting. These experienced college students are helping the high school executive team plan their second annual dance marathon that will take place on May 9th.

Additionally, SpartanTHON has helped Hathaway Brown Primary School put on their dance marathon for the past three years. This unique elementary school event exposes students to the needs of UH Rainbow and allows them to support philanthropy, even at a young age!
