DANCE MARATHON AT LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY RECEIVES THE 2022 DIGITAL MEDIA AWARD

Miracle Network Dance Marathon recognized top performing Dance Marathon programs at the Dance Marathon Leadership Conference held in Atlanta, GA July 21-24, 2022.

Congratulations to Dance Marathon at Louisiana State University (LSU) for receiving the 2022 Digital Media Award. The Digital Media Award recognizes a program’s efforts in utilizing digital media to highlight a campaign, educate new and existing audiences, or tell a story. The team at Dance Marathon at LSU decided that their main goals were to increase brand awareness on campus and throughout the community, reach new audiences, inspire cause connections, and generate profits through digital media efforts. Digital media was a priority, so time was spent training all the members of the team. They set brand guidelines in place for every campaign and coached each member of the team to be successful in designing deliverables and being effective storytellers. Planning included schedules for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter months in advance to ensure that everything that was sent out was functional and intentional, which all led to greater awareness and financial success.

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is an international movement, involving over 400 colleges, universities and K-12 schools across the United States and Canada that fundraise for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. These students work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds one dollar at a time by making the ask to family and friends. Their hard work culminates in a 6–40-hour celebration on their campus or virtually, where participants have the opportunity to rally together as a community for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Students involved in Dance Marathon gain valuable skills in fundraising, peer management, delegation, and philanthropy. Miracle Network Dance Marathon programs have collectively raised more than $300 million since 1991.
