DragonTHON at Drexel University Receives 2024 Merchandise Award
Miracle Network Dance Marathon recognized top performing Dance Marathon programs at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ Ignite: Peer-to-Peer Leadership Conference held in Kansas City, MO from July 18-21.
Congratulations to DragonTHON at Drexel University for winning the 2024 Merchandise Award. Merchandise is a great avenue for spreading awareness, can serve as a recognition tool for your hospital and sponsors, and can be an incentive for participants and supporters. DragonTHON utilized their “Miracles Happen in Philly” merchandise line to showcase the purpose of DragonTHON, advertise their organization and reach new audiences in the community.
To expand awareness for the organization throughout the community, this line of merchandise featured Philadelphia’s Iconic liberty bell design, various Philadelphia icons and doodles created by one of their champion children. One of the most creative elements of this line was that they produced the t-shirts in the color of Philadelphia sports teams, allowing any Philadelphia sports fan to purchase the shirt in support of a great cause and their favorite sports team.
Their goal for this line of merchandise was to spread their mission to an entirely new group of people outside their Drexel Campus Community. They found this approach to be successful as they posted the shirts in various Facebook groups receiving orders from a wide range of Philadelphia sports fans!
Congratulations to DragonTHON at Drexel University for your creativity in merchandise designs!
Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a national movement, involving over 400 colleges, universities and K-12 schools across the United States that fundraise for their local member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Students involved in a campus’s dance marathon organization spend a year gaining leadership, teamwork, and nonprofit business experience while raising funds and awareness for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. The year culminates with a final dance marathon event on each campus, where students get to meet patient families treated at their local hospital, participate in games and dancing, enjoy entertainment, and reveal their annual fundraising total. Miracle Network Dance Marathon programs have collectively raised more than $350 million since 1991.
