Kansas City Dance Marathon Parties in the Safari, For The Kids
The University of Missouri- Kansas City held their event, Kansas City Dance Marathon, on Leap Day, February 29. They had a party in the safari and celebrated a banner year, raising $6,615.13 for sick and injured kids here in Kansas City! That was an increase of $1,000 over their 2019 total!
Students decked out in safari hats, and creative face paint danced, played games, and heard stories fro, local miracle families about how their hard work impacts families right here in Kansas City.
Unique to Kansas City Dance Marathon, their organization is current;y spearheaded by a dedicated group of students from the UMKC School of Medicine. Each year, Kansas City Dance Marathon hears from Dr. Christine Deeths. Not only is Dr. Deeths a mom to Miracle Children Rebecca and Tim, she is a graduate of UMKC School of Medicine. Hearing the Deeths family’s story truly brings the mission of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals full-circle for many KCMD participants, as they truly never know when they will need the services of a CMN Hospital.
We cannot wait to see how this organization continues to make waves, raise funds, and create a wonderful tradition on their campus.
