Pitt Dance Marathon Receives Miracle Maker Award

Pitt Dance Marathon was recently recognized with a Miracle Maker award at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s annual Dance Marathon Leadership Conference in July. The Miracle Maker award recognizes a program that has hosted between 4-6 Dance Marathon events and is chosen based on highest percentage increase in fundraising.

Over 1,000 attendees including student leaders as well as hospital and campus advisors from across the nation united at the conference to learn best practices and trends in peer-to-peer fundraising, strategic development to grow their programs, and applicable tips to help them raise more funds and generate more awareness for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through Dance Marathon.

Pitt Dance Marathon also had two students selected to serve as Dance Marathon Ambassadors on a national level for the upcoming year. In this role, the students will work to identify opportunities for creating and promoting Dance Marathon brand awareness. Twelve students in total were selected, with Pitt Dance Marathon being the only program with two students represented.

In March 2019, Pitt Dance Marathon revealed a total of over $338,000 to support Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, a 46% increase from their previous year fundraising.
