My Why: Cody Sasser

“As a high school student, I was a part of HOSA, Health Occupations Students of America. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to go into the medical field to make an impact by saving people’s lives. However, halfway through senior year, I realized I am more determined to pursue a career in engineering. After getting in to Lamar University, I began studying engineering, but still wanted to make an impact in the health sector. I got involved with Lamar University Dance Marathon because Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals does so much for sick and injured kids across the country. Since I won’t be practicing medicine, being involved in such a great organization is my way of making that impact. I love CMN Hospitals because no family should have to worry about their child’s medical treatments and they should always have a group of people ready to support them.”
