Fact or Fiction: Florida Miracle Edition

A guest post from Florida Miracle, Central Florida’s Citywide Dance Marathon:

Florida Miracle is a movement in Central Florida focused on creating miracles for the kids at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Now in our third year, we have realized that there are a few myths out there about Dance Marathons, Florida Miracle and fundraising.

Can you tell which statements below are fact or fiction?

1) “I’m not a dancer so a ‘Dance Marathon’ is not the event for me.”

2) “I cannot attend the year-end Dance Marathon event, so I will have to wait until next year to participate.”

3) “My donation to Florida Miracle will benefit hospitals across the country.”

Keep reading to find out if your answers are correct!

Answers:

1) Fiction: “I’m not a dancer so a ‘Dance Marathon’ is not the event for me.”

Dance Marathons are about creating miracles for kids at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Contrary to popular belief, we believe that bad dancing saves lives and that the Macarena, chicken dance and shopping cart are legitimate dance moves.

We welcome everyone at the event to participate in a short morale dance, alongside miracle kids, once every hour to boost morale and celebrate the miracles we are making together! You don’t need rhythm to help create miracles for the kids at a Dance Marathon.

2) Fiction: “I cannot attend the year-end Dance Marathon event, so I will have to wait until next year to participate.”

Florida Miracle hosts special events leading up to our Dance Marathon for participants to get involved and have fun! Follow us on  FacebookInstagram and Twitter to stay connected and learn about our partial proceeds, networking nights, sports events and other Central Florida happenings with Florida Miracle!

3) Fiction: “My donation to Florida Miracle will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country.”

Any donation made to Florida Miracle will stay local and directly benefit Central Florida’s CMN hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital. As we like to say, “what’s raised here, stays here.”
