DMLC 2020: Sample Schedule for Students
There will be lots of valuable content coming out over the week of DMLC 2020 and we want to make sure you catch it all! Check out the sample schedule below to see our recommendations on how to structure your DMLC experience as a Dance Marathon student:
Daily (Tuesday July 7 – Friday July 10):
- Watch the workshops/sessions that have been released for that day.
- Click here to see a list of the sessions that will be released each day.
- We encourage you to engage with 2-3 hours of content relevant for your position.
- Use our Discord channel to ask questions to our presenters.
- Live General Session @ 2pm CST/3pm EST
- Tuesday: Opening Session
- Wednesday: Keynote Speaker Alex Sheen
- Thursday: Keynote Speaker Nely Galán
- Friday: Closing Session
- All general sessions will include Miracle Family stories and Award Winner announcements.
- Schedule Individual team time/activity & reflection
- Your team will be watching content independently throughout the day. Schedule time daily to come together and discuss what you’ve learned and next steps for your program.
Additional Live Sessions:
Tuesday July 7
- Invite only: MMC Session (2 hours) @ 5:30pm CST/6:30pm EST
- This meeting is designed to allow for best practice sharing amongst our 11 MMC DM programs. The link to the meeting will be shared in advance.
- Emerging Programs Best Practice Panel and Networking (1.5 hours) @ 5pm CST/6pm EST
- Come join fellow emerging programs to hear from a panel of student leaders on how they built their organizations into the Dance Marathon programs that they are today. Hear best practices on organization management, recruitment, marketing, and more! Immediately following the panel there will be a networking opportunity for you to talk with other emerging programs from your area. Link will be shared on Discord.
Wednesday July 8
- Hackathon Live! @ 4pm CST/5pm EST
- During DMLC 2020, we are thrilled to allow our support-base the opportunity to help Miracle Network Dance Marathon discover new solutions via the inaugural Dance Marathon Hackathon. We’re eager to create new and innovative tools that can be used by the Dance Marathon community to raise life-saving funds for kids treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across North America. Watch the finalists present live!
Thursday July 9
- Ideal Business Partner Stream @4pm CST/5pm EST
- The Love’s Ideal Business Partner Pitch Experience invites Miracle Million Club Dance Marathons to pitch as if they were trying to gain a new sponsor, with feedback and judging provided by subject matter experts from Love’s and CMN Hospitals. Everyone can learn from the panelist feedback and from the sponsorship pitch presentations of these programs, which will be streamed live.
- Morale Dance Showcase presented by Dairy Queen @7:30pm CST/8:30pm EST
- Get together virtually with your team to watch the premier of our 2020 Morale Dance Showcase presented by Dairy Queen. Tune in on the Dance Marathon Facebook page.
