DANCE MARATHON AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN – MADISON RECEIVES THE 2022 BEST NEW DANCE MARATHON – COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY AWARD

Miracle Network Dance Marathon recognized top performing Dance Marathon programs at the Dance Marathon Leadership Conference held in Atlanta, GA July 21-24, 2022.

Dance Marathon at the University of Wisconsin – Madison was recognized as the Best New Dance Marathon at a College/University for 2022.  Being a first-year event, the Dance Marathon at the University of Wisconsin took time to build relationships and inspire the campus through cause connections while also establishing their brand across multiple social media channels. Initially, this group set a goal of recruiting 150 participants, but through their team captain program, thorough communication, and intentional education on the cause, they exceeded their goal of recruiting 353 participants. The team ensured that throughout the year, every event, activity, and meeting embodied the mission and vision of Dance Marathon and their local member hospital.  With cause connection and campus education at the core of their actions, Dance Marathon at The University of Wisconsin – Madison exceeded their initial goal of $20,000, raising $41,717!

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is an international movement, involving over 400 colleges, universities and K-12 schools across the United States and Canada that fundraise for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. These students work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds one dollar at a time by making the ask to family and friends. Their hard work culminates in a 6–40-hour celebration on their campus or virtually, where participants have the opportunity to rally together as a community for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Students involved in Dance Marathon gain valuable skills in fundraising, peer management, delegation, and philanthropy. Miracle Network Dance Marathon programs have collectively raised more than $300 million since 1991.
