Children’s Bridges Teen Leadership Council Raises over $27,000 for Lurie Children’s in One Day!
On August 5th, 2020 Children’s Bridges Teen Leadership Council hosted their first virtual fundraising event and set out to raise $5,000 in one day. Children’s Bridges is a teen leadership board comprised of student leaders from four high schools in Chicago: Loyola Academy, New Trier, Woodlands Academy and North Shore Country Day School.
Over 100 students between the four schools worked in planning one day of activation that included a virtual yoga class, a CPR/Heimlich Maneuver training course, canning around the community and a virtual total reveal through Instagram live.
While their goal was $5,000, the students rang in a total of $27,196.96 in one day—blowing their goal out of the water. Thank you to each student that participated in 5K1DAY, and helped turn it into 27K1DAY for the kids! Your continued participation and leadership of Children’s Bridge’s will help us continue to help support our patients and families at Lurie Children’s.
