Apply to Present an Educational Breakout Session at DMLC 2018

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is excited to announce a NEW opportunity for educational presentations at the 2018 Dance Marathon Leadership Conference, which will be held at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis, Ind. from Friday, July 13 – Sunday, July 15, 2018.

This year, the conference will include a number of 20-minute Educational Breakout Sessions, which are different from the traditional 50-minute workshops from past conferences that will continue to be presented by subject matter experts within the industry. The 20-minute Educational Breakout Sessions will primarily be held between 9:30am and 12:00pm on Saturday, July 14.

Dance Marathon student leaders, advisors, hospital foundation staff members, CMN Hospitals staff members, and partners have the opportunity to submit proposals on a topic of their choosing that fits within one of the presentation topic themes:

  • Advisors
  • Alumni Relations
  • Branding/Social Media
  • Campaigns & Special Events
  • Corporate Partnerships
  • Dancer Communication
  • Dancer Fundraising
  • Dancer Recruitment
  • Dancer Retention & Stewardship
  • Dance Marathon Event Planning
  • Donor Stewardship
  • Leadership & Management (including accountability, transitions, and member development)
  • Family/Hospital Relations
  • Finance/Data Tracking
  • High Schools/Mini-Marathons
  • Organization Engagement (including engaging fraternities/sororities, student orgs/groups on campus)
  • Public Relations/University Relations

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with and enhance the educational experience for Dance Marathon student leaders and advisors.

All presentation proposals will be due by Wednesday, March 21 by 11:59pm PT.

DMLC Objectives: 

Through participating in DMLC, attendees will:

  • Gain an understanding of best practices in peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Develop effective strategies to raise funds and generate awareness for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
  • Expand their personal connection to a larger cause and reconfirm their commitment to local kids.
  • Develop professionally through public speaking opportunities, interaction with CMN Hospitals’ corporate partners and other industry leaders as well as various networking opportunities.

  • 672 student leaders from over 184 campuses
  • 40 campus advisors
  • 65 hospital advisors/foundation staff members
